Silicone Defoamer 20% SD-551W is used to reduce foam in paper, paints, printing inks, adhesives, textile finishes, water treatment, latex systems and similar water based processes.
It breaks foam fast and also helps to stop foam from coming back, which supports smoother processing and better control during production.
The usual dosage is 0.3% to 0.8%. The final amount depends on the system type and the level of surfactants present.
It should be mixed with water in a 1:2 ratio, then it should be added with agitation so it spreads well through the system. Shaking well before use is also advised.
