Silicone Defoamer 10% SD-550W is used to control foam in paints, printing inks, adhesives, paper processing, latex systems, textile finishes and water treatment applications.
It breaks foam quickly and also helps to stop foam from forming again, which keeps the process cleaner as well as more stable.
The usual dosage is 0.3% to 0.8%. The final amount depends on the system and the quantity of surfactants present.
It should be mixed with water in a 1:3 ratio and then added with agitation for proper dispersion. Shaking or rolling the container before use is also advised.
